All hell broke loose at an otherwise peaceful Salado, TX rest area, on I-35.
Truck driver Tom Parker was in his truck, “getting ready for bed”, when a woman ran past, holding a baby on her hip. The driver got out of his truck, thinking the woman might need help. Turns out, she was fleeing from a deputy after stabbing her father and biting her grandmother, all the while holding her 2 year old child.
Parker had to “jump and dive between several trucks to try and stop her”. Eventually he, another truck driver, and the deputy combined to subdue the woman.
