Trucker gets hit and killed after jackknifing on I-90 in Montana

On Monday evening, a westbound tractor trailer apparently hit the concrete barrier on the right shoulder on Interstate 90 near Superior, MT, causing it to jackknife and block the right lane, and part of the left.


The driver got out and was checking on his rig for damage when he was struck by a Chevy Tahoe. The SUV driver, a 66 year-old from nearby Alberton, was uninjured.

According to report from the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 8:40 p.m. at mile marker 53.5 near Superior in Mineral County. Road conditions were “slushy and wet”.

The truck driver’s name hasn’t been released, but report says he’s a 65 year-old man from Reseda, CA.
