Tractor-trailer dumps 15 tons of cat litter on Pennsylvania Rte. 222

30,000 lbs of cat litter closed down northbound Rte. 222 in Spring Township, PA early Tuesday morning, after a big rig rolled over. Cat litter everywhere!

According to Spring Township police Sgt. Bill P. Van Etten, “At this point it appears he (the truck driver) failed to negotiate the turn,” he said. “He stayed straight where the road begins to bend right.”

After approximately 5 hours, the mess was cleaned up and the truck was righted.

The truck driver, Donald Haberle, 36, of Telford, Montgomery County was able to climb out of the overturned semi and was taken to Reading Hospital with only minor injuries.
