Prepare to Pass CDL Tests Step By Step
Here are the steps to learn the information from each CDL test section:
1. Download your State CDL manual.
This is key because you’re going to use your state manual to learn the material together with our practice tests.
2. Choose a CDL Practice Test Page to start the learning process.
For future truckers, that's either General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Tank Vehicles, Doubles & Triples, and Hazardous Materials. Go to one of those main testing pages.
3. Start practicing in our original Classic Mode.
All classic mode test questions are laid out on one page, the test is not timed, and you can reset each test and retest if you want. Just go through and answer all the questions without giving them too much thought. Seriously. Then check out the instant results and you will know where you stand and how much work you have to do. At this point, you’re ready to get down to work and start the Practice Mode phase.
4. Take tests in our new Practice Mode.
It's time to get serious and begin the Practice Mode. You can take all the time you need with each question, get an instant answer to the question and look up the provided CDL reference in your state manual. These tests are designed to work this way, in conjunction with the manual.
Read more about this mode and how it works in the next section.
OK, you’ve been practicing and you think you know your stuff. As the Practice Mode tests start to get easier, it’s time to move up to the next level.
5. Now, take a CDL practice test in our new Exam Mode.
These questions are in random order, they’re timed similar to the official state CDL written exam, and you get results only when you’re done each with test. Now you’ll be able to see just how well you respond to the little bit of added pressure. It won’t be long before you’ll forget you have a time limit, and just breeze through the questions.
6. There's only one thing left to do. If you're confident after studying and acing our practice tests, locate your official state DMV or DPS office that gives Commercial Driver's License Testing (hint: look in your state manual). It's time to take the official state CDL written exams!
Trucker Country's Practice Mode with CDL References
When you study only with your state’s CDL manual, it can be overwhelming. Not sure of an answer and need to look it up in the manual? This can take time and repeated searching through (and past) the same areas of the manual (especially in Hazmat!). We have provided the reference to your state manual along with each answer right there on the screen which will save you time - no skimming through the pages, flipping back and forth, wondering if that’s the paragraph they were talking about or not. You will know immediately whether or not you got the question correct, and if you check our reference in your state guide, you will also know immediately WHY you got the answer right or wrong.
You will know where to find the concept behind it in the most recent edition of your state manual, so you can understand not merely the facts, but the concepts behind the facts. That can increase your understanding of the information you’re learning, and exponentially increase your chances for success. You will know you’re getting the information you need to succeed in your trucking career today, not two years ago.
Why Are Our Tests the Best CDL Practice Tests Online?
First, our 3 Modes of testing. In Practice Mode, we provide CDL references along with every answer. We have designed it so that you take tests in conjunction with your CDL manual to best learn each section. More about our testing mode system below.
Our CDL practice tests are free, but there are many sites out there with free practice tests. The quality of the tests is what matters most! CDL practice tests must be accurate, challenging, and up to date with the latest Federal Guidelines found in your state CDL manual. We make sure of that.
The best way to master the material is by taking each CDL practice test alongside your state CDL manual. That’s exactly what we've designed our testing mode system to do.
How Do Our CDL Practice Tests Prepare You To Succeed?
The best way to prepare for anything you want to succeed at is to practice, practice, and then practice some more. Practice can be THE difference in your CDL test preparation. But studying the manual alone doesn’t necessarily give you the confidence to walk into a testing facility and know you’re ready. Our CDL tests are designed to work together with and aid your understanding of your state CDL manual.
Our tests can help you start to see how the information in the manual flows together. It becomes less of a huge block of information you’re not sure you’ll ever master, and gets broken down into bite-sized questions and answers. You’ll then understand how to apply your knowledge to your day-to-day truck driving career.
Other online tests may leave you wondering if the tests you’re taking are from the official manual or just out of someone’s… shall we say back pocket? We’ve gone through every question to make sure it’s relevant to today’s federal trucking guidelines. And with our provided manual references in our Practice Mode, you can see for yourself that this is true. Case in point, we used to get occasional emails about ambiguous test questioning and either confusing or wrong answers. Once we came up with our CDL tests in Practice Mode and people could see where in the manual the question came from, any questioning about the accuracy of the tests became a thing of the past.
We at Trucker Country believe our CDL tests will help you be prepared and confident, knowing you’ve been testing yourself on the most current and effective practice tests we can offer you. If you find a question or reference that disagrees with your state guide, please don’t hesitate to bring this to our attention.
